Aluminium & Carbon Fibre Repair
Lightweight structures repaired with material-specific methods—aluminium, carbon fibre and mixed bodies.
Why AMA Prestige?
Prestige and performance vehicles are increasingly built from aluminium and carbon fibre to save weight and add strength. These materials behave differently from steel: aluminium has less ‘memory’ and reacts to heat, while carbon fibre is a layered composite with its own repair rules. Our aluminium and carbon fibre repair follows manufacturer procedures for each material, so strength and safety are restored—not just appearance.
Aluminium work is carried out with dedicated, material-specific tooling, kept apart from steel to prevent contamination and corrosion. Repairs use the bonding, sectioning and replacement methods the manufacturer specifies. Carbon fibre components are assessed for structural and cosmetic damage, then repaired, refinished or replaced as required. What we deliver
Dedicated Aluminium Tooling
Separate tools and repair stations keep steel contamination, and the corrosion it causes, away from aluminium.
Manufacturer Repair Methods
Bonding, sectioning and replacement carried out exactly as the manufacturer specifies.
Carbon Fibre Assessment
Carbon components inspected for cracking, delamination and impact damage beneath the surface.
Carbon Refinishing
Clear-coated and exposed-weave carbon refinished to restore depth and gloss.
Genuine Parts
Structural carbon and aluminium parts replaced with genuine components where repair isn’t permitted.
Structural Measuring
Laser measuring confirms mixed-material structures return to factory dimensions.
Heat-Controlled Repairs
Heat is carefully controlled, as aluminium and composites can weaken if overheated.
Corrosion Protection
Repaired areas sealed and protected to manufacturer specification against corrosion.
What you can expect
Our Process
Identify aluminium, steel and carbon components and inspect for hidden damage.
Source manufacturer repair data and confirm repair or replacement for each part.
Move aluminium work to dedicated tooling to prevent cross-contamination.
Bond, section or replace components using manufacturer-approved methods.
Laser measure the structure to confirm factory dimensions and alignment.
Seal, corrosion-protect and refinish in your factory colour or carbon finish.
Inspect fit, finish and structure, and hand over with repair documentation.

Frequently Asked Questions
Aluminium and carbon fibre repairs depend on the material, the component and the manufacturer’s repair rules. These FAQs cover why specialist repair matters, when carbon fibre can be repaired, which vehicles use these materials, strength and timeframes.
Why does aluminium need a specialist repairer?
Aluminium reacts differently to heat and stress than steel, and steel particles left on aluminium can cause galvanic corrosion. Correct repairs need dedicated tooling, separate work areas and the bonding or sectioning methods the manufacturer specifies.
Can carbon fibre be repaired, or does it need replacing?
It depends on the part and the damage. Cosmetic damage to clear-coated carbon can often be refinished. Structural carbon, or any part showing cracking or delamination, is repaired only where the manufacturer allows—otherwise it’s replaced with a genuine part.
Which cars use aluminium or carbon fibre bodywork?
Many prestige and performance vehicles do, including models from Audi, Jaguar, Land Rover, Porsche, Tesla and Lamborghini. Some use full aluminium structures; others combine aluminium, high-strength steel and carbon fibre.
Can dents in aluminium panels be repaired?
Often, yes. Aluminium needs a slower, more controlled approach than steel because it has less ‘memory’. Smaller dents may suit paintless repair; larger damage is repaired with aluminium-specific tools, or the panel is replaced.
Will the repair be as strong as the original?
When repaired to the manufacturer’s procedure, yes. We follow OEM repair data for bonding, sectioning and replacement, and verify the structure with laser measuring before refinishing.
How long does an aluminium or carbon fibre repair take?
Timeframes depend on the extent of the damage, whether parts must come from the manufacturer and insurer approvals. Specialist parts for prestige vehicles can take longer to source. We’ll confirm a schedule after assessment and keep you updated throughout.
